Parents of adolescents cited by police may request or be assigned Diversion Programs
in lieu of court appearance.
Participation in Diversion insures the adolescent will have an informal record rather than
a formal record which is accessible to the public.
- Designed for first and second time offenders only.
- Available to adolescents cited by the police for various minor offenses and drug offenses.
- Program responds in a way which redirects the adolescent while keeping their juvenile offense off
public record.
- Family assessment session is the beginning where the counselor and family work together to understand
what is most needed to benefit and support the youth at this time in his/her life. What is getting in the
way of this youth being successful and staying out of trouble.
- Six weekly classes in life skills.
