The Youth program at Petaluma People Services Center is Learn to Earn.
In cooperation with Federal Workforce Investment Act, Sonoma County Human Services Department, City of Petaluma, Petaluma People Services Center, and Petaluma City Schools.

- Case management and assessment
- Adult mentoring
- Working readiness skills training
- Occupational skills training
- Leadership development
- Paid and unpaid work experience
- Service learning and job shadowing
- Independent living skills
- Self esteem tools
- Comprehensive guidance and counseling
- Additional supportive services
- Follow-up services
WIA ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- A strong desire to develop educational, work readiness, and job skills
- 14 - 21 years of age
- Low income &/or Special Education / study skills student
- Resident or student of Petaluma or unincorporated areas.
ADULT MENTORS RECEIVE:
- Satisfaction in helping youth gain self respect, learn survival and social living skills, and set and reach personal goals
- Community partnership opportunities
EMPLOYERS RECEIVE:
- Job-ready youth who have received education and employment skills training
- An employee in exchange for further training
- Potential training wages/worker's compensation coverage
